Te Reo Maori

I learnt Te Reo Maori.

First we had to talk in Maori for 8 minutes straight and if spoke english we would get a srike/slip.

Next we learnt how to say new words in Maori. We also had to tell what the time is.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt how to talk in Maori for 8 minutes. I need to improve on telling the time. I did well on saying new words that I didn’t know.

Witi Ihimaera

I learnt about Witi Ihimaera.

First we learnt about who he was and where he was born. I researched what stories he made and what theme his book was about. A fact is: He wrote short books and he also wrote novels.

Next we research what books he wrote, fact is that he was the first ever Maori to publish a book. The books he wrote were: Whale rider, The dream swimmer and The matriarch.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt new things. I need to improve on finding more facts. I did well on reaserching.

Sir Apirana Ngata

I learnt about Sir Apirana Ngata.

First we read a text about Sir Apirana Ngata. I learnt when he was born, where he was born, what culture was, where his face is now. I learnt that his face was on the 50 dollar note.

Next I learnt about when he was born the 3rd of July, he was raised in Te Araroa, and died in 1950 July the 14. He died 11 days before his 76th birthday.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt a lot about Sir Apirana Ngata. I need to improve on finding more information about him. I did well on researching about Sir Apirana Ngata’s life.

Te Reo

I learnt about Utaina (waiata).

First I listened to the music and translated the music on the google translater and it was. Thank you All of you Load the cars National vehicles Drag it ashore To lie down Move on, move on Lift up, up Thank you, thank you All of you.

Next I made a DLO, It had a english version and a Maori version of Utaina. The meaning is: That its about saying thank you for the national vehicles.

I enjoyed this because I learnt the what Utainais is. I did well on explaining the message. I need to improve on                 understanding the message more.

Dame Whina Cooper

I learnt about Dame Whina Cooper.

First I made google drawing taliking about dame whina cooper. We had to reaserch about Dame Whina Cooper she was the best-known maori woman in the country. 

After we still had to do it we had to search for facts about Dame Whina Cooper she was born in 9 December 1895 and died on 26 March 1994.

Lastly We still had to reasearch mor about her, here are some imformation about Dame Whina Cooper. She was a protester, and she was 98 and she died on 26 March 1994.

I enjoyed this task because I got to learn about Dmae Whina Cooper. I need to improve on knowing more about her. I did well at reasearching about her.
