Impact Of Volcanoes

LI: To discuss the impact of volcanoes on the environment and human communities.

Our challenge was to research the impact of a specific volcanic eruption in Aotearoa. We had a choice of Mt Tarawera or Whakaari. We found out about wharaari white island and researched about its recent eruptions and the many facts of the eruptions and what the aftermath was of those eruptions. I found this task interesting because whakaari white island had a eruption and cancelling the tourist from visiting the island for safety precautions.

My Pepeha

A pepeha shares some stuff about yourself, My pepeha I answered a question/word I answered, where my ancestors are from, etc.

LI: To write and say our pepeha

To help us get to know eachother, we have written our pepehas. this allows us to make connections and form friendships with eachother. I found this activity/task good and fun because I could record myself reading my pepeha.This task is sharing something about me in maori and an english version, I wrote my granparents names, where I was raised, when my ancestors arived in, I acknowledge the indigenous people of Panmure/Mt Wellington I acknowledge the important landmarks of Panmure/Mt Wellington.

Rail Transport

My group and I did a task to learn what a stakeholder is, We learnt what rail transport is and also had to write 10 facts

First I learnt what transport is, rail transport is a vehicle that is supported by a rail underneath.

Next I wrote my DLO I had to write my 10 facts in a text box we could do our DLO on a Google drawing or Google slides. I had to find a image from pixabay and attributed the image the person who made the picture, pixabay and the license.

Lastly I had to move the stuff around so I could follow the print design rule, following the print design rules will make your poster/DLO or any type of platform look good.

I enjoyed this task because I got to learn about rail transportation. I need to improve on having a better poster. I did well at making the DLO.

 

Pros And Cons

I learnt what pros and cons mean, cons mean a disadvantage and a pro is advantage.

First I went on a slide on the slide was a jet ski and a ship I had to write the pros and cons. For example: A jetski average cost is 5,000 to 20,00 so it’s valuable, Jet Skis can get stolen very easily. A con is for example: You can fall off of a jetski easily if you’re not balanced. Wastes your money if you break it, You can sink out to sea if a storm comes.

Next we did ship, we also had to use pros and cons. Here are the thing we wrote for a ship: A ship has more protection against the weather, It can float on water when there’s no storm. And this is the thing we wrote for cons A ship does not have that much horsepower. A ship might be too heavy to survive the sea cause it might sink

Lastly we had to put a image in the box we had to put a image of a baot and a jet ski.

I enjoyed this task because I got to learn what cons and pros means. I need to improve on writing more for the pros and cons for the ship and jet ski.

My Culture

I learnt what my culture I am.

First I wrote my cultures and what we represent on my cultures. My culture is cook island we represent pur culture by listening to cook island drums.

Next we put a circle on the map for where we come from. I was born in taranaki.

Lastly we wrote what cultural practise I do at home is learning on how to make Ika mata with my mom.

And a cultural practise I learnt, and a cultural story that I know. And a cultural story I learnt.

My friends culture is tongan, and celebrates by cooking pig with his dad and papa. And my aqauntence celebrates by going to church on sunday moarning.

I enjoyed this task because I got to tell people what culture I am. I need to improve on knowing all my cultures. I did well at knowing some of my cultures.
