Cammanding Conversation

I learnt how to look at a photo and write it as a conversation.

First I found a photo and thought about what they were thinking and put it in my own words.

Next I wrote what I thought and what they were thinking.

I enjoyed this task because and I liked writing a conversation. I need to improve on writing more. I did well on thinking about what to write.

Sir Apirana Ngata

I learnt about Sir Apirana Ngata.

First we read a text about Sir Apirana Ngata. I learnt when he was born, where he was born, what culture was, where his face is now. I learnt that his face was on the 50 dollar note.

Next I learnt about when he was born the 3rd of July, he was raised in Te Araroa, and died in 1950 July the 14. He died 11 days before his 76th birthday.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt a lot about Sir Apirana Ngata. I need to improve on finding more information about him. I did well on researching about Sir Apirana Ngata’s life.

Revising Basketball

I revised basketball skills, dribbling and passing.

First I revised dribbling. When I dribble I have to make my legs go straight to be shoulder width apart. I had to use my fingers to get a good grip on the ball.

Next I revised passing I got with a partner and we had to pass the ball by putting the ball on your chest with a “W” on the ball. And when you pass I have to have my hands straight to get the ball and when the ball came I had to absorb the ball to my chest and I had to push it back.

Lastly I did long throwing I had to step one leg forward and put the ball to my chest and threw back the ball.

I enjoyed this because I revised different skills. I did well at dribbling. I need to improve on passing.

State Your Opinion

How to state your opinion.

Use a structure using ape, ape stands for assertion, proof and explain.

Then write the assertion, assertion means explain what you think. The first slide LS1 had to do was the soft toy. the topic was about who should get the bear the older brother or the younger brother.

Lastly LS1 did all of the slides and LS1 only needed to explain what you think. for the slides. the topics are about your opinions.

Summarising

I learnt how to summarise.

First I read a book called Rahi and the Patupaiarehe. This book was about a lady who was gathering plant’s and then the Patupaiarehe carried off her, and then her husband Rahi was determined to find her.

Next I made a summarising slide and we had to write about what was in the story.

Lastly I wrote 20 key words and we had to choose the 6 most important key words. and then we used those words to make a summary.

Cultural stories

I made a venn diagram.

First we watched a video about and immortal snake with her husband and this came from China.

Next I made a venn diagram I first put my title’s of my book on and we had to find the similarities and the differences. I used the Immortal White Snake and the Mole and the Mother.

Lastly I put my similarities and the differences and in the middle I put the similarities.

I enjoyed this task because I got to learn how to make a venn diagram. I need to improve on know how to write the difrences. I did well at writing the similarities.

Pencil Coding

I learnt how to pencil code.

First I wrote where the turtle will go I made it go first to the beehive. The code to get to the beehive was rt 40 and fd 300.

Next I made it go to Cape Reinga we had to turn it to make it go in a direction. I got the code by testing by turning lt 130 and went fd 475.

Lastly I did my last two marks they were North Head and Aoraki we used right turn and left turn and forward direction.

I enjoyed this task because I got to learn how to pencil code. I need to improve on thnking of it straight away when I do it again. I did well at useing pencil code.

SSR Selfie

I did a can do called SSR Selfie.

First I chose a book I wanted to read I read a book caled Hotdog.

Next I made a slide about what happened in the book.

Lastly I chose three new words and put them in my own words.

I enjoyed this because I got to read. I need to improve on spelling the new words in my own words. I did well at reading.

Split Strategy

I learnt how to use split strategy.

First I worked out on a srategy it was: 5735 + 2262 we had to do the biggest number is 5000+700 +30+5+ 2000+200+60+2=7997. and we always had to use the right hand side number.

Next I did another one and it was 4243+5121 = 4000+200 + 40 + 3 + 5000+100+20+1 = 9364.

Lastly I mad a DLO talking about what the split strategy is, I wrote split strategy is something that can be split into two pieces, For example: 4243 + 5121 = 4000 + 200 + 40 + 3 5000 + 100+ 21 + 1 = 9364.

I enjoyed this task because I got to learn how to use split strategy. I need to improve on getting to know it better. I did well at splitting the numbers.
